PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE: Before applying powder coating, it is crucial to ensure that the surface is completely devoid of contaminants like oil, dirt, rust, and dust. Moreover, applying a chemical substance to the surface imparts specific properties. For instance, coating the material with a layer of phosphate or chromate after pre-cleaning enhances adhesion to the porous surface and provides protection against corrosion upon impact. Depending on the process requirements, intermediate steps such as rinsing and drying might also be included in the surface treatment procedures.
APPLICATION OF THE POWDER: The clean substrate is grounded, and the charged powder particles are sprayed onto its surface using a specialized spray gun. The gun imparts a positive charge to the powder particles, and due to the grounding effect, the object carries a negative charge. This electrostatic attraction ensures that the powder adheres uniformly to the surface
